Aeronautical Systems Research Division TAF Labs
The Structure and Materials Test Lab.
The Structure and Materials Test Lab. was established to support the tests of metals, composite, chemistry, rubber, etc. in ASRD, CSIST. The Taiwan Accreditation Foundation (TAF) certificate of accreditation was acquired in 1994, Accreditation Number: TAF-0091.
The certification of several U.S. aircraft and engine companies was also acquired. In 2005, ASRD passed the PRI / Nadcap accreditation and certified as the GEAE supplier. The accreditation of Allied-Signal for 41 materials tests, Pratt & Whitney for 16 materials tests and Boeing for 4 materials tests were achieved.
Accreditation Items:
1. Mechanical Test Lab:
Fatigue, Rockwell Hardness Test, Brinell Hardness Test, Fracture Toughness, and Tension;
2. Metallography Lab:
Grain Size, Decarburization Depth, Measurement, Macroetch Test, Inclusion Content Test, Coating Thickness, and Microhardness;
3. Static & DADT Test System:
Fatigue Test for Airplane and Static Test for Landing Gear;
4. Chemistry Lab:
Stainless Steel Elemental Analysis, Low Alloy Steel Elemental Analysis, Carbon Steel Elemental Analysis, and Aluminum Alloy Elemental Analysis;
5. Composite Materials Test Lab: (Polymer and Composite Materials)
Tension, Compression, In-Plane Shear Test, Bend Resistance;
6. Rubber Test Lab:
Shore hardness test, Tension test, Tearing strength test, Aging test, Immersion test, Vulcanization
rate test, and Compression set test.
Electromagnetic Measurement Lab.
The EML was established and certificated by TAF, Accreditation Number: 1456, in 2005. The agreed measurements include antenna pattern, RCS (Radar Cross Section) and EMI CE102. In the Lab, Far-Field pattern can be measured using the Compact Range in a limited space. By using the automatic measurement systems, the resolution is improved and the measurement time is reduced.
Calibration Lab.
Calibration Lab. was established, Accreditation Number: 3011, in 2015 on account of increasing calibration business, meeting customer needs, and product quality control. The major accredited item is to calibrate pressure transducer. Other than accreditation items achieved, more items shall be put into operation for the requirements in the future so that the whole product quality management system can be carried out.
