The Development Process of Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS)

During the deployment of purchased weapons and equipment, if some key components are shut down or out of service by the original manufacturer and there are no alternative suppliers (DMSMS), it will lead to a shortage of parts for repair and a decrease in serviceability. In severe cases, it may cause combat readiness or face the risk of being phased out.

Utilizing the existing R&D capabilities of all units within the academy and collaborating with domestic manufacturers, our center has achieved numerous results in equipment trial repair or replacement parts development over the years through engineering analysis and reverse engineering. These achievements have assisted the national armed forces in resolving maintenance issues and have effectively extended the service life of systems, improved equipment readiness rates, and saved defense spending.
