Mighty Hornet Ⅲ
Mighty Hornet Ⅲ is the first X-wing anti-armor attack UAV jointly developed by our institute and private enterprises. The airframe is produced using 3D-printed engineering plastics, significantly reducing development costs and time. It also allows for quick assembly, maintenance and mission module replacement. By leveraging the advantages of domestic component manufacturing capacity, it achieves a non-red supply chain. The high-density energy battery module is fully custom-developed by local manufactures to enhance the aircraft endurance.
Mighty Hornet Ⅲ combines the vertical takeoff and landing advantages of multi-rotor platform with the high-speed cruising capabilities of fixed-wing flight, requiring no ground equipment for launch or recovery. This reduces operators’ workload, enhances battlefield survivability, and improves deployment mobility enabling rapid execution of strike missions and increased attack efficiency.
To enhance strike precision, it is equipped with an Electro-Optical/Infrared and capable of autonomous target identification and localization, allowing it to accurately strike amphibious landing craft and armored vehicles. Designed with wartime mobilization in mind, its production and assembly is independent of molds or factory-grade machinery. It offers four key advantages: low cost, high mobility, ease of manufacturing, and effective deployment.
