Small Turbofan Engine

Small Turbofan Engine

National Chung-Shan Institute of Science & Technology (NCSIST) has been developing small turbofan engines since the mid-1990s. Breakthroughs in critical technology have made it possible that capabilities for engine components design, manufacture, and testing are progressively achieved. Numerous engine tests and flight test evaluation are also successfully completed.

The small turbofan engine is domestically developed in Taiwan, one of the few countries in the world having the technology for development of small turbofan engines. The small turbofan engine is two- spool design and has the benefits of low fuel consumption and high performance, and is primarily used as power systems for unmanned vehicle systems missiles, target drones, and UCAV.

Meanwhile, NCSIST is capable of developing the small turbofan engine derivatives to provide power systems for a variety of flight vehicles to meet customer requirements.
