Rotary Engine

Rotary Engine

National Chung-Shan Institute of Science & Technology (NCSIST) has built the capabilities for rotary engine design, manufacture and testing. The rotary engine is domestically developed in Taiwan, one of the few countries worldwide having the technology for development of rotary engines.

The rotary engine is used as power systems for unmanned aerial vehicles, which are capable of conducting tactical intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and military missions to meet the requirements of the national defense.

The rotary engine has the benefits of high power with low weight, less volume, low drag, less front area, structural robustness and compact component systems.
In civil and industrial applications, the rotary engine can be used as power systems for powered paraglides and light aircrafts for recreational purposes.

Through the integration of the prosperous automotive industry and the rotary engine technology in Taiwan, it is more promising to develop ultra-light aircrafts, improve value added for automotive components processing and enter a new era of rotary engine application.
