Four major equipments were designed to fulfill ROC Navy specifications for installation in surface ships: Antenna, Antenna Control, Transponder, and Remote Control. The main features are as follows:

1. 3KW solid-state transmits with 256 channels.

2. The capability of channel switching within 30 seconds.

3. The response range covers 300 nautical miles.

4. Provides distances and bearing information to 150 aircrafts equipped with TACAN simultaneously.

The TACAN system has been gradually deployed in ships since 1999.
