eGuardian – A PKI-enabled Encryption Tool
The eGuardian, a PKI-enabled encryption tool, provides users a way to encrypt and decrypt their confidential data (at rest data or data in transfer). The security assurance level may differ, depending on the classification level specified by the user, the software apply different algorithms and key size to deal with data. A cipher text can be identified by use of the UI we provide, thus the user can be notified to whom it should be forwarded to get decrypted.
The software is tightly integrated with most commercial email systems. It uses the certificate of the receiver to encrypt the file(s) and automatically sends to the recipient with the cipher text attached. The receiver decrypts the cipher with his/her smart card. All he/she needs to do is to keep the PIN code in mind. A sender needs not tell the receivers what the passphrase is. It makes secret information exchange easier and safer.
Civil Application: Personal sensitive file or enterprise secret information encrypt/decryption.
Military Application: Military classified or confidential information encrypt/decryption.
