Cardinal Mini Unmanned Aircraft Systems

Cardinal Mini Unmanned Aircraft Systems

The Cardinal mini-UAS are used for supporting and reinforcing day and night surveillance, reconnaissance, and target acquisition capabilities for company-level combat troops and providing precise target location for fire attack. Except for military missions, UAS are also used for traffic surveillance, forest service, monitoring and control of water and soil conservation, photographing and investigation for disaster area.

The systems comprise air vehicle, remote controller, control box, data link module, omni antenna, video receiving module, directional antenna, and portable backpacks.

By hand launch takeoff, the Cardinal is operated by pilot when it is within visual range. After the Cardinal is beyond visual range, the control authority will be handed over to control box which will then navigate the Cardinal to target area to transmit real time data and imagery to control box to provide ground troops for the assessment of situation. After the missions accomplished, the Cardinal will execute parachute recovery.
