TC-1 Air-to-Air Missile System
Overview
The Tien Chien Ⅰ(TC-1) is a short-range IR-guided air combat missile. NCSIST started to develop TC-1 in the mid-1980s, the production phase started in 1991, and the missiles entered ROCAF service in 1993.
Features
The TC-1 uses a superior sensitive infra-red seeker, which has all-aspect engagement capability. The missile has fire-and-forget and slave-by-radar capabilities, which are highly acclaimed by pilots in air combat.
The TC-1 is composed of guidance control unit (GCU), high-explosive warhead, active laser proximity fuse and reduced smoke solid propellant rocket motor.
