Eco-friendly Joss Paper Burner

Eco-friendly Joss Paper Burner

Burning joss paper is a popular folk ritual activity in Taiwan and Asia for people who want to worship deities or ancestors. However, burning in incomplete combustion conditions will produce pollutant emissions, such as NOX, SO2, CO, and other suspended particles, which are harmful to human health. This division, MRSRD, has applied its capacity in weapon system research to the development of Eco-friendly Joss Paper Burner. Notably, the technique of flow simulation in burner’s chamber and the exhaust has been conducted to promote the design of secondary combustion based on cyclone effect. Our test results indicate that this idea controls air pollution in the way of not only improving incomplete combustion but also reducing pollutant emissions. In addition, our burner is cheaper than traditional ones since it does not require additional pollution controller, and its modular design and component built-up structure enable customization, durability, and further modernization.
