Interactive Electronic Technical Manual
Interactive Electronic technical Manuals (IETMs) are digital in form and designed for interactive display to the maintenance technicians or system operator end users. The IETMs are made interactive so that the user can take full advantage of the capability of a computer-controlled display system for guidance in the performance of the tasks.
At NCSIST System Sustainment Center, we are experts in IETM programming. We specialize in the conversion of paper manuals to IETMs, delivered on DVD or web-based deployment. Our Class-IV IETMs meet the DOD Specifications, MIL-PRF-87268, MIL-PRF-87269, and MIL-STD-40051. It is hierarchically structured and includes logical navigation options that include hyperlinks, table of contents, and full text search.
Our IETM solution can provide dialogue driven interaction with user, guided diagnostic troubleshooting, fault isolation, and integration with other logistics support functions. Interactive mechanism can display multiple pages of the manuals – including functional description, maintenance, and illustrated part lists – on the screen, and allow readers to locate needed information more rapidly than in paper manuals.
