The Electromagnetic Pulse Protection Laboratory

The Electromagnetic Pulse Protection Laboratory

The electromagnetic pulse protection laboratory of the Electronic Systems Research Division in NCSIST is responsible for the designing / implementation / testing for electromagnetic pulse (EMP) protection of ground-based systems and facilities. This laboratory also opens and supports the in-country industry to assist the electromagnetic pulse protection products testing.
Key technologies:

• Shield facilities design: In according with MIL-STD-188-125 standard.
• Electronic Point Of Entry protective devices design: Offer the power, analog, and digital HEMP

protective devices to meet the transient suppression / attenuation requirements.

Evaluation test capabilities:

• Parallel-plate Type EMP simulator: To test the system vulnerability before EMP hardness assurance

program or demonstrate that the system performance after the EMP hardness assurance program.
• Shielding effectiveness test: To demonstrate that the Shield facilities perform in accordance with the

   system Shielding effectiveness requirements.
