The electromagnetic compatibility laboratory

The electromagnetic compatibility laboratory of National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology (NCSIST) is an accredited Lab (TAF 0533) responsible for the hardware EMI/EMC testing, design modification and verification test in accordance with the military (US) specification of various research projects in NCSIST. In addition to providing assistance for projects in NCSIST, our Lab also supports the government to promote the electronics-related industries (military, avionics, nuclear equipment, automotive EM testing) and the dual-used technology. The manpower and equipments in our Lab can also be used to overcome the EMI/EMC issues from the hardware design process through both the methods of simulation and testing for commercials.
Our Lab provide EMI/EMC testing for MIL-STD-461 E/F/G、RTCA DO 160G、MIL-STD-704、MIL-STD-1275D, also provide human exposure to radio frequency electromagnetic fields measurements for ANSI C95.1

The main capabilities of our Lab include:
• Large-scale anechoic chamber for 10 meter measurement range (20m × 14m × 9m).
• Medium-scale anechoic chamber for 1 meter measurement range (9m × 6m × 6m).
• Semi anechoic chamber for military specification (7.5m × 5m × 3.6m).
• Laboratories for the EM wave isolation testing.
• EM wave compatibility testing and the EM wave numerical simulation.

Near field Antenna Pattern Measurement Laboratory
There are two types of Antenna Near-field Measurement Laboratories, Horizontal and Vertical. These systems not only suit for measuring phase-array antenna radiation patterns and diagnosing radiating elements, but also support the measurement and analysis of large antenna with high gain.
1. Horizontal:
(1) scanning area: 20ft × 26ft
(2) frequencies range: 1GHz to 18GHz.
2. Vertical:
(1) scanning area: 20ft × 22ft
(2) frequencies range: 0.8GHz to 26.5GHz.

The Laboratory of Electronic ComponentsThe Laboratory of Electronic Components was certified on March 1, 1994 as the first CNLA certified laboratory in the NCSIST. After that, the lab also need to be certified every three years to maintain TAF certificate until now.
The reports signed by this lab are mutual recognized by ILAC (International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation).
This lab is certified on ISO/IEC 17025:2005, and has eight test abilities including Stabilization Bake test, Temperature Cycling test, Thermal Shock test, Constant Acceleration test, Seal test, Burn-in test, Contact Resistance test, and Insulation Resistance test. Test Standards include MIL-STD202, MILD-STD-750, MIL-STD-883 and CNS.
